Welcome

The Neural Engineering Laboratory focuses on multidisciplinary research in electrical engineering, applied to biological and medical fields. We are specifically interested in electrical-biological tissue interfaces. Experiments range from culturing neuronal and glial cells on top of electrode arrays and measuring their electrical activity, to designing stimulation schemes that reduce seizure strength and recurrence in rodents.

In assistive technology, we are interested in designing devices to help maintain or increase the quality of life of people with disabilities.  Projects are led by undergraduate students and range from robotic arms that can be used for feeding, to orthotic devices to help in therapy.
